This is where you will find the project files to accompany the tutorials. Click the file name to download the project file. These are all After Effects or C4D Files unless otherwise stated.

Template_008.aep

This project used particular but there is no reason a very similar effect can’t be achieved with particle world.

Evo_bPrint.zip

This project uses a couple of image files which are included in the zipped folder. But experiment with images of your own. It’s half the fun!

Xplode_001.c4d.zip

This file is setup as the finished version you see on the blog. It has the GI and depth of field enabled, along with the lights and camera move. Have fun with it and lets see what you create.

Rob's colour FX.zip

Here is a selection of colour effects, that you can download for free. All you need to do is unzip the folder into your AE presets directory and apply them. The best way is to apply them to an adjustment layer to give more control. Change the layer opacity to weaken/strengthen the effect. The ‘warm film’ look also has a glow, which is turned off as default. Turn it on to get a little bloom in your shot.

Keep in mind that your cameras, monitors and techniques may be very different to mine, so you may have to tweak the settings to get the best look but these should be a great starting point.

I hope you find them useful,

Rob.

The thumbnails shown are included in the zip and are named so you can easily see which preset is which. Click the orange text above to download.

stockinette knit.jpg

If you’ve watched my cloth and hair tutorial you will have seen me build a quick fabric texture. This is the image I used. Feel free to download it and try it yourself.

GrassTut_001.c4d.zip

Scene file from the tutorial about using the hair engine to make grass. If you don’t have the rockgen plugin just add your own rock objects and materials.

DOF_tutorial.c4d.zip

The finished scene from the depth of field tutorial.

Materials.l4d

A Cinema 4D menu layout, which can be helpful when setting up a scene with a lot of materials. Keep in mind that this was saved for dual 23” apple displays, so you may have to resize it slightly.

‘U’ key menu

Cinema 4d has a few hidden menus and in the Quick Tip 003 video I talk about the ‘U’ key menu. Here is a screen grab of the menu, which I hope will let you learn the shortcuts more easily.

Cinema 4D doesn’t display the menu for long. You get under half a second when you hit the U key. Hope it’s useful for you.

Tutorial_004_example.c4d.zip

Here is the scene file from the Mograph Tracer tutorial, including the extras from the example movie.

Car_materials.c4d.zip

I’ve been working on a project recently that needed a car with materials. I thought you might like them, so here they are. A good little collection of car materials, including two car paints. I like the pearl indigo best.

mat_testing.zip

This scene is useful for creating materials and seeing how they react under consistent lighting.

It’s too big to host here due to my ftp limits, so please get it here.
